Triathlons and Coffee

I just finished reading the current issue of Triathlete magazine. Grabbed it off the rack at my local Books-A-Million to pick up some workout tips. Still hoping to do my first triathlon in May of 2010.

Apparently, triathletes love coffee. Honestly, though, was there any doubt. I mean, who doesn’t love coffee?

There’s a great article in this one about Kona coffee from Wahine Farms, which the editor refers to as “d%&$ good coffee.”

Wahine Farms on the slopes of the Mauna Loa volcano is reputed to make some of the best coffee found in Hawaii. I can’t vouch for it personally though, because they haven’t sent me a bag to review yet (hint, hint). Wahine, which is Hawaiian for woman, was actually founded by world-class athletes Shonny Vanlandingham and Mary Hearn.

The article is gives a great history of coffee in Hawaii. I suggest you pick up the mag. Not only will you learn about coffee, but maybe the triathlon articles will inspire you to set a few resolutions for a healthier 2010.
